BOD Report

080713

Grievances:

  • Steven Boyes: 2008 Grievance is being settled. The settlement offer is removing the suspension and changing it to a Verbal Counseling. Chief Jordan offered to settle this before going to arbitration.
  • We are in constant contact with the city to find closure to all pending grievances.

Member:

  • Marvin Blades Jr resigned as of 080613.

Bills:

  • Jim Moore $7853.00 (This is a total for 2-billing cycles. One bill was received after the meeting on 071713 and the new one was received on 080613.) (1st Reading)

FYI:

  • There is still an ammunition shortage at the range. They have since order another lot of ammunition. This allotment will be for 2015. Remington still refuses to commit to a shipment date. As of today, no issues pertaining to the new way of doing qualifications have been reported to the BOD.
  • There was a “Police Cash Retirement Fund” meeting at the Lodge on 072313 at 1900 hours. It was attended by several retired officers and only 3-active officers. Major Rod Hummel is compiling information on all participants and making a spreadsheet to show different options for the fund. If you are a participant and want to volunteer or share a thought, contact Ron Herwig (retired) or Major Rod Hummel.
  • The BOD will be discussing the possibility of getting a Grievance Tracking software offered by UnionActive.com, our website hosts. The software will enable us to track, search and create a grievance filing system to stream line and consolidate our new and old files.

Requests / Motions:

·         Tulsa FOP Bass club has requested $300.00 to assist with their 2-day Classic Tournament on September 14th and 15th. The money will go towards trophies / plaques and other prizes for the anglers.

·         The Health and Welfare Trust Board has requested a change in their Bylaws concerning the frequency of audits. The BOD met on 080513 and discussed the issue. It was determined that this was a change of such importance that the entire membership should vote on the matter using a station house vote.

·         The BOD is submitting two (2)-Constitution and Bylaw amendments. Both amendments deal with correcting time frames that are impossible to comply with.
