Lodge Question: What is your take on the external load bearing vests that are being test worn by officers?  I was told by CAPERS that the test wear should be complete and recommendations sent to uniform committee by the end of the year.

Chief Jordan Answer: I like the concept of the external armor carriers. I would have a problem with primary ammo pouches being on the vests but I am OK with radios. I would still prefer the metal badge and nameplate to maintain a more professional appearance. I hope we will be able to get the recommendations to the committee by the end of the year but if not it will be very shortly afterward.
