Hello, my name is Sgt. Martha Woody. I am the Personnel and Recruiting supervisor for the Arlington Police Department. The Arlington Police Department is considering running an abbreviated academy for commissioned officers who apply for a police officer position with our department. Please pass this information to your members. For additional information about our department they can visit our website: www.arlingtonpd.org and go to the recruiting link. Feel free to contact our unit at 800-795-9385.
Your department has a very good reputation and your requirements are very similar to ours. The City of Arlington has a lot to offer its residents and employees. It is a great place to live and work. Our Entertainment District has provided an economic boost for the City of Arlington and its citizens. We have a very professional police department and we are constantly growing along with the city. We currently have 613 sworn officers and 177 support staff currently employed with the Arlington Police Department. The department continues to grow allowing opportunities for advancement.
We are currently looking at possible dates for the academy, we are in the very beginning stages of determining this academy.
If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
